Harish Kumar Kallega and Heera Lal appointed as Deputy Secretaries in Higher Education Department

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of two officers to the post of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, under the Central Staffing Scheme.

Harish Kumar Kallega, Indian Economic Service (IES, 2013), who was recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Economic Affairs, has been selected for a tenure of four years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Similarly, Heera Lal, Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes, 2015), recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has also been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Higher Education, Delhi, for a period of four years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Both officers have been directed to be relieved of their present assignments immediately to enable them to take up their new responsibilities in the Department of Higher Education.
