IAS Reshuffle: ACC nod to appointment of several bureaucrats

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of as many as 15 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers on Monday. The full list is here-

Arun Singhal (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers. Singhal is a 1987-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He is presently serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

BVR Subrahmanyam (IAS) has been appointed as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) on a contract basis for a period of two years in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India upon his superannuation on September 30. Subrahmanyam is a 1987-batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh. Presently, he is serving as Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Anjali Bhawra (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment. Bhawra is a 1988-batch IAS officer of the Punjab cadre. Presently, he is serving as Secretary in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

Rajesh Aggarwal (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. Aggarwal is a 1989-batch IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre. He is presently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. He has been appointed to the post in place of Anjali Bhawra (IAS) upon her appointment as Secretary in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment.

Rajesh Kumar Singh (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying. Singh is a 1989 batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre.

Sunil Barthwal (IAS) has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry with immediate effect. Barthwal is a 1989-batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre. He was previously posted as Secretary in the Ministry of Labour & Employment. He will take over as Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry vice BVR Subrahmanyam (IAS) upon his superannuation on September 30, 2022.

Mukhmeet Singh Bhatia (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs. Bhatia is a 1990 batch IAS Officer of the Jharkhand cadre. Presently, he is serving as Director General of Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Arti Ahuja (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Labour & Employment vice Sunil Barthwal (IAS) upon his appointment as Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Commerce. Ahuja is a 1990-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre. Presently, he is serving as Secretary in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

Vijoy Kumar Singh (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary of the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence. Singh is a 1990-batch IAS officer of the Punjab cadre. He is presently serving as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles.

Atul Kumar Tiwari (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship vice Rajesh Aggarwal (IAS) upon his appointment as Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. Tiwari is a 1990-batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre. Presently, he is posted as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Vivek Bhardwaj (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary of the Ministry of Mines upon the superannuation of Alok Tandon (IAS) on September 30, 2022. Bhardwaj is a 1990-batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre. He is presently posted on Inter-cadre deputation.

Arun Baroka (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers vice Arti Ahuja (IAS) upon her appointment as Secretary of Labour & Employment. Baroka is a 1990-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre. Presently he is posted as Special Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti.

Gudey Srinivas (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. Srinivas is a 1990-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre. Presently, he is posted as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has also approved in-situ upgradation of the following officers to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India as a measure personal to them by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them:

Rajiv Jalota (lAS) (currently at the same position) has been appointed as Chairperson of Mumbai Port Trust in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.

Ashish Upadhyaya (lAS), presently serving as Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser of the Ministry of Power has been appointed as Special Secretary & Financial Adviser of the Ministry of Power.
