New Delhi: The Government of India has appointed Isha Khosla (IAS) as Director in the Department of Expenditure, Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme. The appointment is for a tenure of five years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Khosla is a 2011 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of AGMUT cadre.

The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), in an official order dated August 6, directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to relieve Khosla immediately so she can take up her new role. As per the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) guidelines, officers must join within three weeks of the appointment order, failing which debarment from the Central Staffing Scheme may be initiated.

Hailing from Delhi, Khosla holds a B.Com (Hons) degree from Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, Delhi University. She is also a qualified Company Secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. Before joining the Indian Administrative Service in 2011, she gained five years of professional experience working with the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India. Her administrative journey began as Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) in Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh.

Over the years, Khosla has held several important administrative positions across the AGMUT cadre. Her experience spans key roles such as District Magistrate of South Delhi, Deputy Commissioner in Upper Siang and other districts, Resident Commissioner of Goa, and Special Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. She has worked extensively in areas such as district administration, finance, general administration, and personnel management.

Her recent assignments include serving as Special Secretary to the Lt. Governor of Delhi (June 2024 – February 2025), District Magistrate of South Delhi (November 2021 – June 2024), and Deputy Commissioner in multiple regions including Upper Siang and Goa.

With her diverse administrative background and financial expertise, Khosla brings significant experience to her new role in the Department of Expenditure.
