New Delhi: Madhu Rani Teotia (IAS), who is presently on compulsory wait in the Ministry of Women and Child Development has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA). According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), she has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) with a combined tenure of four years i.e. up to November 10, 2023, from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier.

Teotia is a 2008-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the AGMUT cadre. In October 2019, she was appointed as Private Secretary to Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Debasree Chaudhuri in the Ministry of Women and Child Development. "She may kindly be relieved of her duties immediately with instructions to take up her new assignment in the Mb Housing & Urban Affairs," the order further added.

Further, Lavanya Kumar Kannikala Ramamurthy (IFS) has also been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in MoHUA. He has also been selected for appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of three years with effect from October 9, 2021, or on the vacation of the post by the incumbent officer whichever event takes place earlier. Ramamurthy is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of 2009-batch. He was recommended for the Central deputation by the Ministry of External Affairs.
