Neeraj Kharwal (IAS) gets additional charge of IICCL's MD & CEO post

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Neeraj Kharwal (IAS) as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of India International Convention and Exhibition Centre Limited (IICCL) on an additional-charge basis.

Kharwal is a 2007 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttarakhand cadre. Born on 25 September 1979, he holds an MBBS degree from MD University Rohtak. Currently, he has been serving as Managing Director (JS Level) at the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), New Delhi, since 1 November 2025.

Throughout his career spanning about two decade, he has held various positions including Secretary, Joint Electoral Officer, Additional Secretary, District Magistrate, and Additional District Magistrate.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Traning (DoPT), Kharwal will hold the additional charge for six months from the date of assuming charge, or until a regular appointment is made, or until further orders, whichever is earliest.

The approval was given on a proposal of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
