R Chethan (IPS) inducted as DIG in CBI

New Delhi: R Chethan (IPS) has been inducted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on deputation. He is a 2010-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Karnataka cadre.

Prior to this, Chethan was serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Western Range, Mangaluru, Karnataka.

Chethan holds an Engineering and MBA background. Over his 16-year career, he has served in premier roles, including Police Commissioner of Kalaburagi, SP Intelligence (Bengaluru), and chief of the state's Anti-Naxal Force. Prior to his central move, he served as the DIGP of the Western Range and Commissioner for Youth Empowerment & Sports.

Chethan has been inducted for a period of five years.
