New Delhi: The senior IAS officer Rajendra Ratnoo has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Cooperation, as per an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved his appointment on Monday.

Ratnoo, a 2001-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme. His tenure will be for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Prior to this appointment, Ratnoo has held various key positions in the state government and at the Centre, bringing with him rich administrative experience to the Ministry of Cooperation, which was established in 2021 to strengthen cooperative movements across India.
