New Delhi: Richa Gupta (IDAS) has been selected for the appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles on Thursday. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Richa has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier.
Richa is an Indian Defence Account Service (IDAS) officer of 2010-batch. She was recommended for the Central Deputation by the Ministry of Defence. "She may kindly be relieved of her duties immediately with instructions to take up her new assignment in the Ministry of Textiles," the order further read.
Gupta completed her Bachelor of Science (BSc in PCS) and Masters of Science (M Sc) from the University of Rajasthan. She joined Defence Account Services in 2010.
The Ministry of Textiles is an Indian government national agency responsible for the formulation of policy, planning, development, export promotion and regulation of the textile industry in India. This includes all-natural, artificial, and cellulosic fibres that go into the making of textiles, clothing and Handicrafts. The current Minister of Textiles is Piyush Goyal.
