New Delhi: Sandeep Pondrik, a 1993-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Bihar cadre, has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries.
The Competent Authority has approved the assignment following the superannuation of Kamran Rizvi, a 1991-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, on October 31, 2026.
Pondrik, who is currently serving as Secretary, Ministry of Steel, will hold the additional charge of the Ministry of Heavy Industries until the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
With this arrangement, Pondrik will oversee the Ministry of Heavy Industries in addition to his existing responsibilities as Secretary, Ministry of Steel.
