New Delhi: IPS officer Surendra Choudhary has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi. According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Choudhary has been appointment to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Choudhary is a 2013-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of AGMUT cadre. Currently, he is posted in Police Headquarters, New Delhi.

Choudhary was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has instructed that he be relieved of his present duties immediately to enable him to take up his new assignment in the Ministry.
