New Delhi: Central Bank of India said on Wednesday that Vivek Wahi and Rajeev Puri have been appointed as Executive Directors on its board with effect from March 10. According to the notifications from the Department of Financial Services, Wahi has been appointed to the post for a period of three, while Puri has been appointed to the new position till the date of his superannuation (ie June 30, 2023), or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Both have assumed charge of the post on Wednesday, said the Central Bank in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges. 

Vivek Wahi

Wahi is an Engineering Graduate (B Tech) from NIT, Kurukshetra. He possesses a rich banking experience. He has worked in all important verticals of banking, like Branch Banking, Overseas Dealing Room, Large Corporates Credit Branch etc. He has also worked in various capacities as Zonal Manager, Treasury Head, and Field General Manager etc. He was posted as Zonal Manager of Bank of lndia's Mumbai South Zone, the largest zone on business mix parameters. He has also headed the Bank of India's Treasury in Mumbai for more than two years. He has also worked as Field General Manager of Northern Territory of Bank of India, comprising six states headquartered in New Delhi. Prior to joining the Central Bank of India as Executive Director, he was General Manager in Bank of India.

Rajeev Puri

Puri holds a Master's degree in Commerce and an MBA in Finance. He also holds a Diploma in Rural Banking from the Insurance Information Bureau of India (IIB). He is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers, He is also an alumni of llM-B (BBB-LDB training 9 months). He is a seasoned banker with varied experience and has worked in various capacities in different geographical areas of the country, He has received many awards during his stint as Branch Head, Circle Head and Zonal Manager of Punjab National Bank (PNB). As Chief General Manager of PNB, he headed the bank's important verticals like MSME & Mid Corporate, Agriculture, Retail Lending and Financial Inclusion Division. Prior to joining the Central Bank of India as Executive Director, he was Chief General Manager in PNB.
