Chalasani Venkat Nageswar appointed as CFO of SBI

New Delhi: State Bank of India (SBI) has appointed Chalasani Venkat Nageswar as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the bank. He has been given additional charge of the post of Deputy Managing Director & Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of the lander with the immediate effect. He is currently serving as Deputy Managing Director of International Banking Group of the same bank.

"Chalasani Venkat Nageswar, Deputy Managing Director, International Banking Group has been given additional charge of Deputy Managing Director & CFO with immediate effect till further orders," said the bank in its regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Wednesday.

Nageswar serves as the Chairman of the board of directors of the State Bank of India (California) since 2018. He is also Deputy Managing Director of the International Banking Group (IBG), with the bank. IBG has operations across 209 offices in 35 countries with a business portfolio of more than $55 billion and a staff of over 3,000. With over 34 years of banking experience, He has held various positions across a wide range of domains including Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, Treasury, Trade Finance, Risk and Compliance. He served as the Deputy Managing Director in-charge of the 'Global Markets' vertical of SBI and was charged with the responsibility of the treasury portfolio of India's largest bank with significant exposure to various market segments such as foreign exchange, money market, equity, venture capital, strategic investments etc. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Botany, PGDJ from Bhavan's Institute and CAIIB.
