Coronavirus: Here’s how RINL is maintaining uninterrupted production

Visakhapatnam: RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is implementing various measures in its fight against the pandemic Coronavirous (COVID-19) and also maintaining uninterrupted Plant production. From creating a helpline to putting hoardings, distributing of pamphlets and airing of video messages the Plant has initiated various measures. Two helpdesks which run 24×7 have been created at Visakha Steel General Hospital (VSGH)-one near the main reception area and the other at the casualty. An isolation ward has also been set up in the hospital.

The awareness campaign has been taken up by putting hoardings, distributing of pamphlets, and airing video messages through doctors to spread the basic hygiene etiquette and cleanliness etc. Sanitization drive of all areas like lavatory, floors, canteens etc, with a disinfectant, is taken up in a massive way inside the plant and township.

Coronavirus advisory has been issued to all employees to maintain social distance at the workplace, and inform the authorities about their travel visit and their acquaintances who have arrived here from abroad in the past 3-4 weeks. Issuance of visitors entry Pass to Plant and Admn. The building has been suspended till further notification.

All Training, HRD programmes, conferences, etc have been postponed till further notification.

The biometric attendance recording system for employees has been suspended until further notice.

Official correspondence, wherever possible, is being done through electronic media like e-mail, SMS, e-office, etc and also, the physical movement of official papers and files has been minimized.

All social, sports and recreational centres like the stadium, clubs, gyms, CWC, etc are closed till further notice. Crèches are also closed till further notification.

Work from home is considered for vulnerable employees like those suffering from critical medical conditions, pregnant women and quarantined persons etc.

Despite all measures to combat the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the plant production levels are being maintained uninterrupted with strict adherence to safety.
