Under the agreement, Reliance will develop a 168 MW built-to-suit data centre for Meta, which is expected to be delivered within two years, with provisions for future expansion. The facility will be Meta's first built-to-suit data centre capacity in India and will support the technology giant's global infrastructure and AI computing requirements.

The project represents a major step in Meta's global infrastructure expansion and further strengthens its long-standing partnership with Reliance, which already spans connectivity, commerce and digital innovation. The companies said the facility will play a key role in supporting Meta's core business operations while reinforcing India's growing importance in the global digital and AI ecosystem.

As part of the partnership, Reliance will provide end-to-end services across the entire lifecycle of the data centre, including design, construction, utility management, renewable power supply, network connectivity and managed operational services. The company said this positions Reliance as a single-window solutions provider for hyperscale AI infrastructure in India.

The Jamnagar location offers several strategic advantages for large-scale data centre operations, including access to renewable energy, water availability, proximity to western submarine cable landing stations and connectivity through Jio's extensive fibre network. The facility will be powered by renewable energy and cooled using desalinated seawater, paving the way for the sustainability commitments of both companies.

The initiative is aligned with the Government's policy focus on developing data centres as strategic national infrastructure and attracting long-term investments in AI infrastructure.

Commenting on the development, Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh D. Ambani said the partnership demonstrates India's readiness to lead the global AI revolution.

"This partnership with Meta marks a transformative moment for India's digital infrastructure. Building India's first built-to-suit data centre for a global technology leader of Meta's scale demonstrates India's readiness to be at the forefront of the global AI revolution," Ambani said. He added that Jamnagar would emerge as a landmark destination for hyperscale AI computing and that Reliance remains committed to building world-class digital infrastructure to power the next generation of AI innovation.
