New Delhi: In the wake of Coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown, Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO), a Kanpur-based Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, has stepped forward to support around 250 migrant workers engaged in construction work at its headquarters in Kanpur by distributing quality food to these migrant labourers who stuck due to lockdown in the city.

'Social distancing' was the key point of concern during the distribution of two-time meal to the needy worker and their family members. The labourers are from different parts of the country residing in the temporary dwelling nearby construction site inside the ALIMCO premises. ALIMCO under the vigilance of its medical officer is providing lunch and dinner with these workers and also arranging to provide milk for their children during the ongoing lockdown period until the situation gets better in the region.

Contribution of Rs 55.18 lakhs to 'PM CARES Fund'

As per Prime Minister's call to support the nation's fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19), ALIMCO had announced a contribution of Rs 55.18 lakhs to Prime Minister's citizen assistance and relief in emergency situations (PM CARES Fund).

ALIMCO is a "not for profit" PSU and has been manufacturing various types of aids and appliances on a mass scale to meet the requirements of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs-Divyangjan), across the country.
