New Delhi: Airports Authority of India corporate office situated in Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan was sealed on Wednesday for 2 days after fresh COVID positive cases were found. There were a total of 4 active cases by then. The offices were re-opened after disinfection and sanitisation on Friday. However, during the day 2 fresh COVID positive cases surfaced from the operations department. This has taken the tally to 6 active cases in AAI in past 10 days time. Although all are home quarantined as none of the cases are of severe category, as per information so far.

AAI has not issued any official statement though an officer on request of anonymity has said that the cases are not of concern as all of them were detected well on time and then were home quarantined. "The corporate office is working at 50 percent staff strength which means the employees are coming on alternate days, all prescribed precautions are being taken and the employees who can manage their work online, have been asked to carry out their assignments from home only" he said.

Meanwhile, PFC (Power Finance Corporation) has once again sealed its office premises in New Delhi, but unlike the last time, the threat is real this time around as an employee has tested positive for Coronavirus. Employees at the power PSU were asked to work from home on Friday, an internal mail accessed by PSU Watch showed.

The news comes a day after the tally of COVID-19 cases reported from SAIL (Steel Authority of India) Ltd rose suddenly as more employees tested positive for Coronavirus after the top rungs of the management caught the infection. There’s no official word on how many employees at SAIL have tested positive for the virus so far, but tests are ongoing as there are several employees who came in contact with the top management, many of whom have tested Coronavirus positive.
