CSR: REC to provide assistance of Rs 10 crore to persons with disabilities

New Delhi: The REC Foundation, CSR arm of REC Limited, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with ALIMCO to provide assistance of Rs 10.00 crore for the project "Distribution of aids & assistive devices to persons with disabilities" in 25 locations across the country.

The MoA has been signed by REC Foundation’s Senior GM & HoD Bhupesh Chandolia, and, ALIMCO’s GM (Marketing) Ajay Chaudhary. This project will be implemented by the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) and is aimed at benefiting five to six thousand of people from deprived classes of society.

The proposed project for the distribution of aids & appliances to the Person with Disabilities (PwDs) is aimed at empowering them to restore their confidence and improve functional ability. The assistive devices are generally long lasting and do not require high maintenance. The beneficiary is expected to maintain the same as the capital cost is already borne under the project.
