
New Delhi/Visakhapatnam: Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, has donated a Multi-Purpose Vehicle to the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Center in Visakhapatnam. The vehicle has been formally handed over by HSL's Director (Corporate Planning & Projects), Commodore Rakesh Prasad (Retd), in a ceremony attended by senior officials of the shipyard and staff from the hospital.
This contribution aims to enhance the hospital's cancer screening capabilities and strengthen healthcare services for the local community. The newly donated vehicle is expected to play a pivotal role in expanding the hospital's outreach, enabling timely cancer detection and supporting patients in remote areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Cmde Rakesh Prasad (Retd) reiterated HSL’s commitment to societal welfare and the importance of supporting critical healthcare infrastructure. He emphasized that such initiatives reflect the organization’s dedication to contributing positively to the community.
The hospital staff expressed gratitude for the gesture, highlighting the significant impact the vehicle would have on their ability to serve patients and promote early cancer detection.
Recently, HSL in collaboration with the Shankar Netralaya Foundation had organised a 4-day free eye checkup camp in Peda Medapalli village, Mentada Mandalam, Vizianagaram District.
HSL's community-focused CSR initiatives continue to underscore its role as a responsible corporate entity, actively addressing the healthcare needs of the region and fostering well-being within society.
