MCL signs MoU with CIPET to train 520 candidates under CSR initiative

New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Bhubaneswar, to provide skill development training to 520 candidates under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The MoU has been signed on September 23, with a total programme outlay of Rs 3.53 crore.

The programme will provide industry-oriented training in two trades — Plastics Processing and Injection Moulding.

Candidates will be selected primarily from MCL’s operational districts and aspirational districts of Odisha. At least 30 percent of the beneficiaries will be women, according to the company.

The programme also has a focus on employment outcomes, with CIPET committed to ensuring placement for a minimum of 70 percent of the trained candidates in relevant sectors.

Through the initiative, MCL aims to strengthen the skill ecosystem in Odisha and create employment opportunities for youth, particularly women, from its operational and aspirational districts.

The programme is part of MCL’s ongoing CSR efforts focused on skill development, employment generation and inclusive socio-economic development.
