

Singrauli/Mumbai: Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), the Singrauli-based flagship subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has been awarded the prestigious Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (GPACSR) – 2025 under the National category.
The award was presented during the 20th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility organised by the Institute of Directors in Mumbai on Thursday.
NCL’s Director (HR), Manish Kumar, received the award on behalf of the company. General Manager (CSR), Rajiv Ranjan, along with other officials, was also present at the ceremony.
Speaking at the conference, Kumar highlighted NCL’s pioneering CSR initiatives and its focus on sustainable infrastructure development projects aimed at delivering long-term benefits to local communities.
The Golden Peacock Awards, instituted by the Institute of Directors, India, are recognised globally as benchmarks of corporate excellence and are presented under both global and national categories.
NCL stated that its approach to Corporate Social Responsibility goes beyond statutory compliance, positioning CSR as a strategic tool for securing social licence to operate.
