New Delhi: The committee of directors on CSR & Sustainability of NHPC Limited during its 35th meeting held on April 24, approved the interim CSR budget allocation of Rs 60.5 crore for 2020-21 including an amount of Rs 15 crore for "PM CARES Fund." A total contribution of Rs 40 crore (including the afore-mentioned amount of Rs 15 crore) has already been made by NHPC Limited to "PM CARES Fund" from its CSR Budget of FY 2019-20 and FY 2020-21.

The above allocation of Rs 60.5 crore includes an amount of Rs 32.50 crore sanctioned for implementation of CSR activities in the thematic areas of education and health for people around power stations and projects of NHPC Limited, through various KVs and other schools and medical facilities through NHPC dispensaries. An amount of Rs 1.25 crore has also been allocated for combating Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic around NHPC Power stations and projects.

The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Bhagwat Prasad Makwana, Independent Director, NHPC through video conferencing. During the meeting, NHPC Limited's Director (Projects) Ratish Kumar, Director (Personnel) Nikhil Kumar Jain, Director (Finance) MK Mittal, Director (Technical) YK Chaubey, Executive Director (CSR) MK Goel, Company Secretary Vijay Gupta and other Senior Officers of CSR and SD Division were also present.

The Committee of Directors appreciated the various ongoing CSR activities pertaining to Coronavirus (COVID-19) by various projects and power stations of NHPC Limited.
