New Delhi: NHPC Limited, India's premier Hydropower utility, has distributed Aids & Assistive Devices to the Divyangjans at Lakhimpur, Assam. At an estimated cost of Rs 24.48 lakh, Aids & Assistive devices have been distributed among 327 Divyangjans of the Lakhimpur area under the corporate social responsibility & sustainable development (CSR-SD) scheme of NHPC Limited. The distribution has been done by the Member of Parliament (MP) Pradan Baruah. This information has been shared by the Power PSU in a tweet on Monday.
NHPC Limited was incorporated on November 7, 1975, under the Indian Companies Act, 1956 with the objective to be a globally leading organization for sustainable development of clean power through competent responsible and innovative values. NHPC Limited is a Miniratna PSU under the aegis of the Ministry of Power. NHPC was recently in news for the resumption of Subansiri dam construction which was pending for a very long time. The construction of the Subansiri lower dam has been stalled since 2011 by environmental groups because of ecological concerns.
