
New Delhi: NMDC Limited on Thursday said that it has contributed Rs 8.33 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to upgrade facilities at Ballari Medical College and Research Centre (formerly VIMS).
The support has enabled the hospital to add critical medical equipment, including ICU ventilators, neonatal circuits, Bubble CPAP and pediatric BiPAP devices, High Flow Nasal Cannula machines, HD laparoscopes, ERCP scopes, and laser systems. Operating theatres have also been modernised with new tables and advanced LED lights.
Dr. T Gangadhara Gouda, Director of VIMS, said the additional equipment will significantly enhance patient care, while NMDC CMD Shri Amitava Mukherjee reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening healthcare in the regions where it operates.
Over the last two decades, NMDC has invested more than Rs 2,600 crore in healthcare, education, skill development, and infrastructure in Karnataka and Chhattisgarh.
