New Delhi: Union Minister of State (I/c) for Power & New and Renewable Energy RK Singh laid the foundation stone for corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects worth Rs 24.38 crore to be undertaken by REC Limited in Muzaffarpur (Aspirational District), Bihar, through video conferencing on Saturday. Here's the list of these projects:

  • The construction of 100-bedded waiting hall for the attendants of patients, multipurpose hall and incubation centre at Sadar Hospital and procurement & installation of 25 incubators for District Hospital and PHCs.
  • The renovation 50 Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) and providing containers for storing food grains, LPG gas connection & setting up of Antenatal care corners in 1,125 AWCs.
  • The construction of 200-bedded restroom (Vishram Sadan) for patient's attendants at Sri Krishna Medical College & Hospital, Muzaffarpur.

The objective of the projects is to improve and provide better health services to the people residing in and around the aspirational district Muzaffarpur in Bihar. REC Limited's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) SK Gupta, Director (Finance) Ajoy Choudhury and Executive Director R Lakshmanan (IAS) shared their thoughts on the occasion. District Magistrate of Muzaffarpur Dr Chandre Shekhar Singh and other district officials from the district were present to grace the occasion. The event was also graced by Minister of Urban Development and Housing Department, government of Bihar, Suresh Kumar Sharma, District Council President Indra Devi and Councillor Dinesh Prasad Singh.

Earlier on September 18, Singh had dedicated REC CSR projects worth Rs 1.64 crore to the people of Bihar through video conferencing.

There were a total of 14 schemes, which included eight schemes for construction of PCC roads, three schemes for installation of LED, solar and high mast lights, construction of three community halls. The main objective of the projects was to improve and provide basic infrastructure and developmental facilities in the villages of Koilwar block in Bhojpur district.
