New Delhi: Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with HLL Lifecare Limited on Wednesday. This MoU has been signed under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme of POWERGRID. As per the MoU signed between two organisation, a number of 18 health camps will be organised in nine aspirational districts (two in each District), for distribution of health products to the privilege people of the districts.
POWERGRID is a state-owned electric utility company headquartered in Gurugram. The company transmits about 50 percent of the total power generated in India through the transmission network. Its former subsidiary company Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) handles power management for the national grid and all state transmission utilities.
HLL Lifecare Limited (formerly Hindustan Latex Limited) (HLL) is state-run Indian healthcare product manufacturing PSU, based in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The company produces health care products, including condoms, contraceptive pills, IUDs, surgical sutures, blood bags and Pharma products. In 2012, HLL announced a polymerase chain reaction-based duplex test kit for chikungunya and dengue fever tests in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology.
