New Delhi: SJVN Limited on Wednesday said that it has extended financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Kosh under the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Scheme of the Government of Himachal Pradesh, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
SJVN's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Bhupender Gupta, said that the contribution reflects the company’s commitment to supporting social welfare initiatives aimed at vulnerable sections of society in the state.
The cheque has been presented to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, in the presence of Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF), Sanjay Sood. The contribution was handed over by Vikas Marwah, Head of Project, Rampur Hydro Power Station, and Vivek Sharma, Head of Project, Luhri Hydro Power Project (Stage-I).
Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), SJVN, and Chairman of SJVN Foundation, said that the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Scheme is a significant initiative of the state government, aimed at ensuring care, protection and long-term support for orphaned, abandoned and surrendered children across Himachal Pradesh.
He added that the assistance provided by SJVN Foundation will help meet future requirements related to education, healthcare, nutrition, housing, skill development, and the overall rehabilitation of beneficiary children.
SJVN Foundation, the registered trust of SJVN, oversees the implementation and monitoring of the company’s CSR and sustainability initiatives. Under its CSR framework, SJVN undertakes a range of developmental activities focusing on health and hygiene, education and skill development, infrastructure development, disaster relief, sustainable development, as well as the promotion and preservation of culture and sports.
