Bengaluru: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has received additional orders valued at Rs 732 crore since its last disclosure on October 22.
According to BEL, the fresh orders include Software Defined Radios (SDRs), tank sub-systems, communication equipment, missile components, financial management software, cyber security solutions, upgrades, spares, and services, among others.
A key highlight of these new orders is the procurement of Software Defined Radios, which are the first fully indigenous radios jointly designed and developed by BEL and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). These state-of-the-art SDRs are interoperable with existing and legacy radios, enabling seamless transition between communication technologies.
The advanced SDRs are expected to enhance secure, real-time communications and bolster the Indian Army’s operational readiness in modern, network-centric warfare environments.
With these fresh orders, BEL continues to consolidate its position as a leading provider of indigenous defence electronics solutions supporting the government’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
