
New Delhi: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking (DPSU), has secured a significant contract valued at Rs 593.22 crore (excluding taxes) from the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the maintenance of the Akash Missile System. The system was originally supplied by BEL, reinforcing the company’s critical role in India’s defence infrastructure.
With this order, BEL has marked a strong beginning to the financial year 2025-26, setting the stage for further growth and expansion in the defence sector. The contract underscores BEL’s expertise in providing high-end maintenance services and its long-standing collaboration with the Indian armed forces.
Additionally, BEL has successfully concluded negotiations for orders worth Rs. 5,000 crore with various customers, indicating a strong pipeline of business opportunities for the company. These forthcoming deals are expected to further strengthen BEL’s position in the domestic and global defence markets.
