BEL setting-up advanced night vision products factory in Andhra Pradesh

New Delhi: As part of the expansion of the existing unit, Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has taken up an establishment of an Advanced Night Vision Products Factory in Nimmaluru Village, Pamarru Mandal, Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh.

In a written reply to Shri Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar in Rajya Sabha, Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Ajay Bhatt said the factory is being set up in an area of around 50 acres and will cater to the futuristic requirements for Night Vision Products. The new factory is likely to create direct and indirect employment for around 500 people.

The Navratra Public Sector Company BEL is engaged in the design, development and manufacturing of Electro-Optics equipment and Night Vision Products for defence and paramilitary forces.

The foundation stone for the state-of-the-art factory was laid by the then Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu in 2016.

The Advanced Night Vision Products Factory will enable the Company to expand its electro-optics business and carry out manufacturing and integration for the ongoing and upcoming projects. It will have state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure such as modern optics workshops, clean rooms of the highest standards, a facility for thin-film coating with higher durability and other modern SPDT and CNC Machines.
