DRDO and France’s DGA sign Technical Agreement to strengthen defence R&D cooperation

New Delhi: India’s Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) and France’s Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) have signed a Technical Agreement to deepen bilateral cooperation in defence research and development. The agreement was inked at DRDO Bhawan, New Delhi, by Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO, Dr. Samir V. Kamat, and National Armaments Director, DGA France, Lt. Gen. Gael Diaz de Tuesta.

The partnership establishes a formal framework to advance joint research, training initiatives, testing activities, and structured exchange of information between the two countries. It also enables the organisation of workshops, seminars, and collaborative programmes aimed at enhancing expertise across defence R&D ecosystems.

The agreement will facilitate the transfer of equipment, know-how, and technologies, strengthening capabilities on both sides. Cooperation will span a wide array of strategic domains, including aeronautical platforms, unmanned systems, advanced materials, cyber security, artificial intelligence, advanced propulsion, navigation, space technologies, quantum technologies, underwater systems, and advanced sensors.

Both nations expressed confidence that the enhanced collaboration will accelerate innovation, boost indigenous capabilities, and contribute significantly to national security and global defence technology development.
