New Delhi: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) has entered into a strategic partnership with Apollo Micro Systems Limited (AMS) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop and supply advanced weapons and electronic systems. The agreement has been formalized on Wednesday, through an MoU.

The MoU has been signed by GRSE's Director (Shipbuilding) Cdr. Shantanu Bose, IN (Retd.) and AMS's Managing Director Karunakar Reddy Baddam in the presence of GRSE's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd.); GRSE's Director (Personnel) DIG Subrato Ghosh, ICG (Retd.) along with senior officials from both organisations.

Under this collaboration, GRSE and AMS will focus on joint research and development (R&D), co-production, and supply of critical defence solutions, including underwater weapons and vehicles, underwater mines, underwater communication systems, and air defence systems. These advanced systems will cater to the evolving needs of the Indian Defence Forces, paramilitary forces, police organisations, central and state government agencies, as well as the civil sector and export markets.

The partnership will leverage the core strengths of both companies to enhance manufacturing infrastructure for components and sub-assemblies while also working on the modernization and upgradation of existing systems. This strategic initiative aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ vision, reinforcing GRSE’s commitment to fostering indigenous technological capabilities in the defence sector.
