New Delhi: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has announced that its Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Dr DK Sunil, will continue to hold additional charge as Director (Engineering and R&D) for another month. The decision follows approval from the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

In an exchange filing dated April 8, HAL stated that the Ministry of Defence, through its communication dated April 7, 2025, has conveyed the approval of the Raksha Mantri for this interim arrangement. Dr Sunil will continue in the additional role from April 9, 2025, until May 8, 2025, or until a regular appointment is made, or further orders are issued—whichever is earlier.

Dr Sunil joined HAL in 1987 as a Management Trainee, and has about 37 years of experience in varied roles in the company contributing significantly to Design, production, quality enhancement, and customer support issues.

Prior to taking over as CMD, Dr Sunil was holding the post of Director (Engineering and R&D) of the company from September 29, 2022.
