
New Delhi: Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), a leading Defence Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Defence, extended a warm felicitation to Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, during his visit to the Shipyard on October 10.
HSL's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Cmde Girideep Singh along with HSL’s Functional Directors, expressed deep appreciation for the Vice Admiral’s visionary leadership, strategic guidance, and continued support, which have been instrumental in propelling the Shipyard’s growth and modernisation in recent years.
During the visit, Vice Admiral Pendharkar commended HSL’s remarkable transformation into a premier Defence PSU, capable of delivering high-quality ships and undertaking critical refit projects for the Indian Navy. He highlighted the Shipyard’s increasing contribution to India’s self-reliance in defence shipbuilding and expressed confidence in HSL’s ability to achieve greater milestones with ongoing projects, including the construction of Fleet Support Ships and other advanced naval platforms.
The collaboration between the Eastern Naval Command and HSL continues to play a vital role in enhancing the nation’s maritime preparedness and indigenous shipbuilding capability, reinforcing India’s vision of a strong and self-reliant naval ecosystem.
