HSL showcases indigenous maritime capabilities at IITF-2025; RRM Sanjay Seth lauds shipyard’s advancements

New Delhi: Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) received high-level appreciation for its growing maritime capabilities as Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth visited the shipyard’s stall on the opening day of the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF-2025) at Bharat Mandapam. The stall, set up under the Department of Defence Production (DDP) Pavilion of the Ministry of Defence, will remain open from November 14 to 27.

Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry; Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary (Defence Production), and Amit Satija, Joint Secretary (Defence Industries Promotion), were also present during the visit.

Cmde Girideep Singh, IN (Retd.), Chairman & Managing Director of HSL, briefed the dignitaries on the shipyard’s capabilities in shipbuilding, ship repair, submarine refits and the development of green-energy-based propulsion technologies. He highlighted HSL’s expanding role in advancing Atmanirbhar Bharat and strengthening India’s maritime self-reliance.

HSL is exhibiting a wide range of indigenous platforms at IITF-2025, including the Fleet Support Ship (FSS), Diving Support Vessel (DSV), Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), Drill Ship and Bulk Carrier. The display underscores the shipyard’s engineering capabilities across both defence and commercial segments, along with its strong track record of executing complex refit and upgrade projects.

With ongoing modernisation initiatives and plans for establishing a greenfield shipyard in Andhra Pradesh, HSL aims to build advanced vessels such as Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs), MR Tankers and Landing Platform Docks (LPDs) in collaboration with international technology partners.

Reiterating its commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat and the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, HSL said it remains focused on enhancing India’s strategic and commercial maritime capabilities through innovation, quality and engineering excellence.
