New Delhi: Dhananjaya Singh (IRSE) has been appointed as the Government Nominee Director on the Board of Ircon International Limited (IRCON), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways. Singh is an Indian Railways Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer of 2015-batch. Currently, he is serving as Executive Director (Works) in the Indian Railways. According to the IRCON, he has been appointed to the post with effect from November 10, 2020 (the date of allotment of DIN) till he holds the post of Executive Director (Works), Railway Board, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. "He has been appointed as Director in the Board of IRCON in terms of presidential order dated November 5, issued by the Ministry of Railways," the Railway PSU said during the regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Wednesday. 

Dhananjaya Singh's profile

Singh is an engineering graduate. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Lucknow. He is presently working as Executive Director (Works) in the Railway Board under the Ministry of Railways. Prior to the present assignment, he was worked in Railway Board in various work positions including Directors (Works) Railway Board, Senior Divisional Engineer in the Northern Railway. He was on deputation to Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) as a Deputy Chief Project Manager. He is not related to any other Director of the company.

Ircon International Limited (IRCON)

Ircon International Limited (IRCON) is an engineering and construction organisation, specialized in transport infrastructure. The PSU was established in 1976, by the government under the Indian Companies Act 1956. IRCON was registered as the Indian Railway Construction International Ltd., a wholly (100%) owned entity of the Ministry of Railways. Its primary charter was the construction of railway projects in India and abroad. IRCON has since diversified into other transport and infrastructure segments and with its expanded scope of operations around the world, the name was changed to Indian Railway International Ltd. in October 1995.
