EIL Recruitment 2021: Engineers India Limited (EIL) has posted a job vacancy for the engagement of Director (Technical); Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the job before February 24. The post is vacant since September 1, 2021.

The Director (Technical) is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD). He/She is responsible for the functioning of all Technology & Engineering Divisions involved in Design and Engineering activities covering Process Design, Heat & Mass Transfer Design, detailed engineering of Equipment, Piping, Structural, Electrical & Instrumentation as well as speciality areas like Environment/ Water/ Safety, Information Technology and Research and Development. He/She is also responsible for identifying process technologies, which could be of interest to EIL in future, and planning & coordinating research, design and development activities in those fields as well as a collaboration where necessary. He/She is required to provide overall guidance, support and constant up-gradation of the technical skills of the employees to match the needs of the time and keep abreast of the latest developments. He/She is also required to maintain a close liaison with concerned Ministries, Government Institutions, Clients, Vendors, Contractors and Indian Embassies abroad.

Pay scale: 1,80,000 – Rs 3,40,000 (IDA)

Age Limit: Minimum age limit 45 years and age of superannuation 60 years.

The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale will be one year for internal candidates, and two years for others as on the date of the vacancy.

Employment status

The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:-

(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);
(b) Central Government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;
(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 5,000 crore or more;
(d) Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is *Rs 5,000 crore or more.

Preference would be given to candidates from listed companies.

(*The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

Qualifications

The applicant should be an Engineering Graduate with good academic record from a recognised university or institution.
Applicants with degrees in Chemical engineering will have an added advantage.

Experience

The applicant should have adequate technical or operational or project management experience, out of which at least five years during the last ten years should have been in a major consultancy or petroleum or petrochemical organisation.

Note: (i) Applicants from Central Government or All India Services should be holding a post of the level of Joint Secretary in Government of India or carrying equivalent scale of pay on the date of application.

(ii) Applicants from the Armed forces of the Union should be holding a post of the level of Major General in the Army or equivalent rank in Navy or Air Force on the date of application.

Applicants from State Public Sector Enterprises/ Private Sector should be working at Board level position or at least a post of the level immediately below the Board level on the date of application.

Duration of the appointment

The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up-to-the-date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
