Doing best to give ‘Jawans’ 100 days of family holiday: Govt

Speaking on the on 55th Raising Day of BSF Union minister of state for home affairs Nityanand Rai said Government is doing everything possible to provide better on job amenities to Jawans alongwith 100 days of family holiday

New Delhi: Providing better on job facilities to 'Jawans' is in priorities of the central government said Union minister of state for home affairs, Nityanand Rai on 55th Raising Day of BSF here in the capital on Sunday. "Government is doing everything to allow Jawans to spend 100 days in a year with their families. There have been multiple efforts from the Government to give all possible facilities to Jawans of Central Armed Police Forces," he said.

Providing modern technology to jawans

The minister also said that the government has increased the retirement age to 60 years and is committed to providing modern technology to them. "The Indian government is committed to providing modern technology for the security of our jawans. Government has increased the retirement age of jawans to 60 years. Jawans posted in Kashmir will be provided free of cost air travel from Jammu to Delhi," Rai further added.

"Kartarpur Sahib Corridor at Dera Baba Nanak is secure under Border Security Force. Due to efforts of jawans, enemies have to think multiple times before any intrusion or committing any crime," he added.

"Delhi Development Authority to provide 1 BHK flats on affordable rates to wives of those who have won gallantry award or who have lost their lives on duty. Under Paramilitary Salary Package Scheme, personal accident insurance amount increased to Rs 30 Lakhs," said the minister.

BSF Raising Day

Renowned as the world's largest border guarding force the Border Security Force (BSF) is the border defence organisation of India. BSF, a Union Government Agency under the aegis of Ministry of Home Affairs, was raised in the wake of the 1965 War on December 1, 1965. It is a Central Armed Police Force charged with guarding India's land border during peacetime and preventing transnational crime at the same. BSF has various active roles during an outbreak of war.
