DS Nanaware assumes charge as Director (Pipelines) of Indian Oil

New Delhi: A day after getting clearance from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), DS Nanaware assumed charge as Director (Pipelines) of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). He has assumed charge of the post with effect from December 28. Prior to assuming charge as Director (Pipelines), he was Executive Director (Projects) of Indian Oil's pipelines division. 

According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) issued on December 27, Nanaware has been appointed to the post with effect from December 28, till the date of his superannuation, i.e. June 30, 2023, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Profile of DS Nanaware

Nanaware is a Mechanical Engineer having more than 36 years of experience in the construction, operations and maintenance of cross-country oil and gas pipelines. Before this, he was heading Southern region Pipelines of IOCL covering Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. The new Director (Pipelines) has endearing experience in the conceptualization of gas pipelines, offshore functions, operations & maintenance of large tank farms. During his tenure in the gas functions, Indian Oil for the first time ventured into submission of EOI and thereafter participated in the PNGRB bidding process for natural gas pipelines of IndianOil.

With the effort of team Indian Oil led by Nanaware, Indian Oil was successful in obtaining PNGRB authorization for Ennore-Tuticorin GAS Pipeline. Nanaware also played a pivotal role in the formation of JV companies GIGL and GITL and thereafter led the IOCL group in providing project management consultancy services to GIGL. He has also served as Director on the Board of GIGL and GITL.
