New Delhi: In a move towards achieving self-reliance in the field of new technologies; Engineers India Limited (EIL) and CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum (CSIR-IIP) have come forward and signed an agreement. In an official statement, EIL said that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for development and commercialization of new technologies in the petroleum industry. The MoU has been signed by CSIR-IIP's Dr Anjan Ray and EIL's Chief General Manager & Head of R&D Division Suresh Chandra Gupta on October 30 in the presence of EIL's Director (Technical) Vartika Shukla.

Under the MoU, EIL and CSIR-IIP will jointly develop and license indigenous technologies. Besides enriching EIL's and IIP's technology portfolios, this MoU will mark a significant step in the direction of the government's "Atmanirbhar Bharat" initiative.
