New Delhi: Engineers India Limited’s (EIL) Director (Commercial) RK Sabharwal has been given tenure extension on his current role for a period with effect from September 27, 2021, till May 31, 2022, i.e., the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for extension of the tenure of Sabharwal. This information has been shared by EIL in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Monday.

Sabharwal has more than 37 years of experience in various positions in all areas of commercial function since 1983. He has hands-on experience in the international and domestic commercial domains. His expertise covers various aspects of international trade, EXIM procedures, Taxation, legal aspects etc. He has proven competence in systems development. His job responsibilities include establishing fair and transparent systems, planning manpower allocation, finalizing e-enabling strategies including e-procurement, evaluation techniques, negotiation methodologies and interface management, development of suitable commercial procedures, finalization of detailed contractual terms for domestic and global commerce.

Sabharwal was also posted in Dubai for independently leading the entire commercial function for Gasoline Facilities Project of ISO Octane Company, Dubai during 1998-1999. He has successfully demonstrated leadership skills over the years. He has successfully managed various functions including day-to-day operations under complex management situations. He was also actively involved with IT Applications in various business processes in the company and has been spearheading IT applications in Commercial Function for the last several years. He is a member of the All India Management Association, the Indian Institute of Materials Management and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
