Visakhapatnam: "RINL-VSP is demonstrating its supremacy in the conservation of energy year after year and recognised as the best energy-efficient steel plant in the country," said RINL's CMD PK Rath at the valedictory function of Energy Conservation Fortnight celebrations, held in connection with the National Energy Conservation Day in Ukkungaram today. Winning several National Awards is the testimony to our efforts, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Rath said that RINL-VSP collective is giving importance to the conservation of energy right from the beginning and bringing laurels to the company by implementing various energy-efficient methods. He called upon the VSP collective to further achieve the international benchmarks in the conservation of energy to strengthen plant operations. He said that the plant has installed several waste heat recovery technologies in various facilities which accounts for 62 percent of total power generation capacity. Energy conservation is one of the key techno-economic parameters in the steel industry, which helps to improve the bottom-line of the company significantly, he said.

RINL's Director (Finance) VV Venugopal Rao, Director (Commercial) DK Mohanty, Director (Projects) KK Ghosh, Director (Operations) AK Saxena, Executive Director (Works) I/c  KV Vidya Sagar,  EDs, General Managers and Heads of Departments were also present on the occasion.

Rath and other Directors of RINL gave away the prizes to the winners of various competitions organised for the employees and school children to mark the occasion.

Earlier, RINL's Executive Director ED (Energy & Utilities) V Ramanujam, in his welcome address highlighted the various initiatives undertaken for energy conservation in the plant.

Representatives of Steel Executive Association, unions, SC&ST, OBC association and a large number of employees and school children have participated.
