New Delhi: Engineers India Limited (EIL) has declared 2035 as the year to achieve net-zero to contribute towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of making India net zero by 2070, an official statement said on Saturday.  "As a responsible corporate citizen, EIL had already constituted a team in July 2021 to assess the carbon emissions from its own operations and chart out a roadmap for achieving its own Net Zero target," it said.

"In addition to fulfilling its own decarbonisation objectives, EIL is committed towards assisting its esteemed clientele in their energy transition journey towards net-zero by providing clean and green technological solutions leading to a sustainable future for the generations to come," EIL added.

In the rapidly changing global energy landscape, carbon intensity is becoming a key performance indicator for the success of organisations. New project investments are also diverted towards clean and green technologies instead of carbon-intensive technological solutions. Hence, it has become imperative to become a net-zero service provider to enhance the company's brand image.
