AAI hands over minibus to children’s shelter home in Imphal

Guwahati/Imphal: Airports Authority of India (AAI) is continuously working towards building the aviation infrastructure in the North Eastern Region (NER) of the country along with improving the community living in and around its airports. Primarily experts in the aviation sector, AAI officials through various welfare programmes and in association with the stakeholders, are also connecting to the local population so that it helps both the local people as well as the organisation.

Continuing the same, AAI under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, on December 24, has handed over a minibus to Tabitha Children home in Imphal, Manipur. The minibus was handed over in presence of Minister (health and family welfare, law & legislative affairs /CADA /ART and culture) of Manipur Jayantha Kumar Singh in the August presence of AAI's (NER) Regional Executive Director (RED) Sanjeev Jindal along with Director of health government of Manipur Dr K Rajo Singh. Imphal International Airport's Airport Director Senthil Valavan was also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering Sanjeev Jindal talked about the Yeoman Service, under CSR schemes, taken by AAI to those people who have been out of reach so far and to the needy people. After this, communication with the city and nearby areas will be smoother and children will have a convenient mode to visit several places for different purposes, he said.

He also highlighted various other schemes such as trauma centre at JNIMS Imphal, sports infrastructure and enumerable construction of toilets in Govt. schools under Corporate Social Responsibility programme.

Utilizing the grand function, an agreement was signed by AAI with the CEO of Autonomous district council of Senapathi, for providing a mortuary van to Additional DC, Senapati and provision of a potable drinking water facility at the government hospital, Senapathi, Manipur.

Tabitha children home is a home for homeless children. It's a home for HIV infected and affected children and also homes for parentless children. Later Jindal and other officials also interacted with the children.
