The plantation drive was conducted as part of a nationwide environmental initiative to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This plantation drive was based on the theme of, "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam", which is a nationwide campaign launched by Prime Minister to honour the nurturing spirit of mothers while promoting environmental conservation.

AAI has done similar plantation drives across its airports in India where 80,000 tree saplings were planted to commemorate ICAO’s 80 years to support the green initiative and bolster sustainability efforts in the aviation sector.

The initiative underscores AAI's commitment to foster a greener environment and aligns with the broader mission to reduce the carbon footprint of India's aviation industry.
