New Delhi: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Indian Oil) Director (Refineries) Arvind Kumar has called upon employees to contribute towards building an economically resilient, technologically advanced, environmentally responsible and energy self-reliant India.

Kumar was addressing the 80th Independence Day celebrations at IndianOil Township, Noida, where he highlighted the company’s role in sustaining the nation’s energy lifelines through conflicts, pandemics and geopolitical disruptions.

Describing IndianOil employees as “Energy Soldiers”, Kumar said the company has optimised operations and reconfigured logistics to ensure uninterrupted supplies of essential fuels. He also reaffirmed IndianOil’s philosophy of “Pehle Indian, Phir Oil.”

Looking ahead, he identified safety, operational reliability, innovation, digital transformation and collaboration as key priorities. He also highlighted strategic projects, indigenous technologies, specialty products, petrochemicals and the adoption of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning to build a sustainable and self-reliant energy future.

Kumar urged employees to help build a stronger India in terms of energy security, innovation, self-reliance and character. Addressing children at the celebrations, he described them as the “future of Bharat” and encouraged them to dream fearlessly, remain curious and contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The Independence Day celebrations began with a rendition of the Rashtra Geet, commemorating 150 years of *Vande Mataram*, followed by the National Anthem and flag hoisting. The programme also featured long-service and meritorious children awards, along with cultural performances by IndianOil children, Ladies Club members and the choir group.
