IOC's Chairman celebrates World Athletics Day with 600 talented kids

New Delhi: State-owned PSU Indian Oil Corporation Limited's (IOC) Chairman, SM Vaidya on Sunday posted in a tweet that he participated in an event organised by the Delhi State Athletics Association to celebrate World Athletics Day. He tweeted, "Delighted to celebrate #WorldAthleticsDay with 600 super talented kids at the 1st Delhi State Kids Athletics event at JLN Stadium. The passion of the talented 10/12-year-olds was inspiring."

Highlighting the importance of sports, he tweeted, "Sports has the power to unite & transform, so let’s encourage & cheer for our budding champs!"

About World Athletics Day

World Athletics Day is celebrated on May 7 every year. It is celebrated to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity. The theme for this year was 'Athletics for All – A New Beginning'. It focused on promoting diversity and inclusivity of people irrespective of their age, gender, ability, or background.
