New Delhi: The Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) Pradip Kumar Das has been conferred with the prestigious ‘CMA ICON 2025’ award by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India. The award was presented by Sadanand Date, Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), during the 12th National Students’ Convocation – 2025, held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
Das, who has been leading IREDA since May 2020, was recognised for his exemplary leadership and significant contributions to the renewable energy sector and financial management. With a professional background that spans over 38 years, Das holds a commerce degree from the University of Calcutta and a management postgraduate degree from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. He is a Fellow of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India and an Associate Member of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. His experience covers a wide spectrum including finance, banking, corporate governance, audit, resource mobilisation, and disinvestment.
Addressing the newly qualified Cost and Management Accountants (CMAs) at the convocation, Das encouraged them to embrace the ‘DAS’ principle — Discipline, Attitude, and Simplicity — as a guiding philosophy in both professional and personal life. He also felicitated CMA rank-holders with medals and congratulated them on their accomplishments.
In a related recognition, IREDA Director (Finance) Dr Bijay Kumar Mohanty received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Institute for his valuable contribution to the profession.
Expressing his gratitude, Das said, “I am honoured to receive this recognition from my professional institute. I sincerely thank The Institute of Cost Accountants of India for this honour and dedicate this award to Team IREDA and the renewable energy fraternity, who are tirelessly working towards building a greener, sustainable India.”
IREDA, under Das’s leadership, has seen remarkable growth in supporting and financing renewable energy projects, playing a pivotal role in India’s transition to clean energy.
