MCL concludes Rajbhasha Pakhwada 2026 with Hindi competitions and literary programmes

New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) concluded Rajbhasha Pakhwada 2026 with a series of Hindi language and literary activities aimed at promoting the use of Hindi in official work and encouraging participation among employees and students.

The fortnight-long programme was organised from September 14 to 28 at MCL’s headquarters and operational areas in line with the initiatives of the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs.

As part of the observance, MCL organised essay writing, poetry recitation, translation, drafting and Hindi typing competitions for employees as well as school and college students. The concluding ceremony featured the distribution of prizes and certificates to winners.

Sambit Saurav Nayak, Chief Vigilance Officer, MCL, and Vijay Shankar Pandey, DIG, CRPF Sambalpur Centre, attended the concluding programme as distinguished guests.

Addressing the gathering, Nayak highlighted the importance of Hindi as an accessible and widely understood language and stressed the need for its wider use in official communication. He also congratulated the winners of the various competitions organised during the Pakhwada.

A Hindi translation of the book Kaushal Natya Maharshi: Guru Bhagwan Sahu, originally authored by Rabin Chandra Das and translated by Dr Chittaranjan Nahak, Senior Translator, MCL, was also released during the ceremony.

The concluding event was followed by an Akhil Bharatiya Hasya Kavi Sammelan featuring poets Dr Vishnu Saxena, Dinesh Diggaj, Mahesh Dubey and Dr Sonroopa Vishal. The poets entertained the audience with poetry and humour, marking the conclusion of the fortnight-long celebrations.

Similar Rajbhasha Pakhwada programmes were organised across MCL’s operational areas, with participation from employees and other stakeholders to encourage the progressive use of Hindi in official work.
