Themed at “Improving Organisational Performance through Collaboration and Cooperation,” the conclave was inaugurated by MCL's Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Uday Anant Kaole. The event brought together top management, trade union representatives, and key internal stakeholders, reaffirming MCL’s unique and longstanding culture of participative leadership and collective decision-making.

Present at the conclave were MCL's functional directors — Director (HR) Keshav Rao; Director (Technical/Operations) JK Borah; Director (Finance) AK Behuria; and Director (Technical/Projects & Planning) Sanjay Jha. Members from the Corporate Joint Consultative Committee (JCC), Welfare Board, Safety Committee, and representatives from several trade unions and associations including INTUC, HMS, BMS, AITUC, CISTEA, CMOAI and OBC, also participated in the deliberations.

The event began with a one-minute silence in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the recent terrorist attack at Pahalgam.

In his keynote address, Kaole lauded Team MCL for its record-breaking performance in FY 2024–25, noting that the company had emerged as the top-performing subsidiary of Coal India. He urged employees to remain self-motivated and committed to surpassing current achievements.

“This conclave embodies the spirit of working together. Our growth story is a collective effort, and through unity and cooperation, we will continue setting new benchmarks in coal production and corporate responsibility,” Kaole said.

The day-long event featured brainstorming sessions on key aspects of operations, including mining safety, employee training, welfare measures, healthcare, education, and sports promotion. Participants offered several constructive suggestions, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to continuous improvement and inclusive growth.

In his opening remarks, Keshav Rao emphasized the importance of fostering a cooperative organisational culture to drive long-term sustainability and operational efficiency. Other Functional Directors also addressed the audience, offering perspectives on improving productivity and aligning with the company’s development goals.
