MCL observes Vigilance Awareness Week 2026, launches outreach initiatives

New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) is observing Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 from October 26 to November 1 under the theme “Probity for Prosperity”, with initiatives aimed at promoting integrity, transparency and accountability.

MCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Uday Anant Kaole administered the Integrity Pledge to employees at the company's corporate headquarters in Sambalpur on the inaugural day. Chief Vigilance Officer Sambeet Sourav Nayak and Director (HR) Rekha Pandey were also present.

As part of the observance, a Vigilance Rath was flagged off to spread awareness about integrity and vigilance in nearby townships and villages.

MCL also organised a Bidders’ Meet on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Nayak, who administered the Integrity Pledge to the participants. The meeting provided a platform for bidders from across MCL to share their views on the company's processes and systems.

According to MCL, participating bidders appreciated the management's efforts to improve transparency and introduce system-level improvements.

Earlier, the company organised a cyclothon as part of the week-long programme, attracting around 250 participants, including employees and their family members.

MCL said a series of awareness activities and outreach programmes are being conducted at its headquarters and operational areas during the week to reinforce ethical practices and promote vigilance across the organisation.
